Archaeological Site

L’Esquerda is an important archaeological site that contains historic remains from different historical periods, from the 10th century BC to the 14th century AD. It preserves evidence of more than 2500 years of history, since the Late Bronze Age, the Iberians, the Visigoths, and all the ages of the mediaeval period, until it was abandoned in 1314.

In 2006 L'Esquerda was declared Bé Cultural d'Interès Nacional (Cultural Heritage of National Interest) by the Government of Catalonia.
