L’Esquerda Private Foundation was constituted on 11th March 1994. It is a non-profit-making organization that manages the three basic operating sections of L’Esquerda: the Site, the Workshop-Laboratory with the experimental fields of l'ÀREA, and the Archaeological Museum.

The creation of the Foundation responds to the desire to coordinate and structure the different research, teaching, and dissemination projects that are carried out around the Iberian and Mediaeval site of L’Esquerda.
