L'ESQUERDA: THE TER'S FORTRESS
MAKING THE PAST PRESENT
A permanent exhibition that connects the site with the museum and explains everything we can't see when we visit the archaeological site: the results of the research, the materials that come from there, etc.
You will be able to take a journey through history, from the 8th century BC to 1314 AD. You will discover with images how the site has evolved and a whole series of epic episodes related to this history.
The exhibition presents a total of 318 objects from the archaeological site of L’Esquerda: Iberian and Mediaeval ceramics, iron and bronze tools, remains of fauna, decorative objects, stone materials, carbonized seeds found during the excavation of a 13th century AD barn, among others. A set of Iberian weaponry from the 3rd century BC stands out: a sword, a dead sword scabbard, and flanges from a shield; there is also a good representation of agricultural tools from the mediaeval period: a sickle, a billhook, and an axe.
