Temporary Exhibitions

The Museum has prepared several temporary exhibitions intending to show objects from its collection that are not on display in the permanent exhibition, with their corresponding studies. The museum has also presented activities related to the process of archaeological excavation research.

Stones from L'Esquerda (September 1995-1996)

It presented part of the Museum's collection, a whole series of lithic material objects with various functions, which make up the collections and which are in the reserve. Pieces such as the lids of mediaeval sarcophagi, stone plugs from ceramic vessels, a mediaeval tic-tac-toe, an Iberian stone block with an incised drawing of a boat, an Iberian sculpture with a pig's head, etc.

L’Esquerda: from archaeological excavation to interpretation in images (September 2000 - 2002)

Drawings by Francesc Riart on different restitutions of L’Esquerda: the Iberian settlement, the destruction of the Iberian fortress, a pottery workshop from the Iberian period or the Mediaeval settlement, the Carolingian defence towers, the forge, a 13th-century house, accompanied by information on the archaeological excavation of those structures that made it possible to see where the hypotheses of restitution had come from.

Desperta ferro! (Wake up Iron!) War, work, trade, and daily life in L’Esquerda (January 2003)

Metal objects, tools, weapons, ornaments, and numismatics from the site, organized into four main sections: war, daily life, trade, and work. With information on the manufacturing methods of both iron tools and bronze objects.

Mediaeval ceramics from L'Esquerda: the tonalities of grey (May 2007)

Along the same lines as Desperta ferro!, this exhibition was a showing of grey ceramics from the Mediaeval period, an important collection that spans from the 9th-10th centuries AD to the beginning of the 14th century.

 

Marta solsona. Sculptures in L'Esquerda (May 2010)

This exhibition brought together a total of 15 bronze sculptures by the artist Marta Solsona. The exhibition was held on the occasion of International Museum Day, which symbolized the Museum's coming out onto the street. The sculptural ensemble created a large avenue leading to the site. Photographic spring in L'Esquerda (May 2011)

An activity organized by the Museum with the collaboration of the Roda Photographic Group (GFR), and the support of the Roda Commercial Association and the Culture Council of Roda de Ter. 29 photographers from the GFR took part, with a total of 82 photos. It consisted of capturing the flora and vegetation of L’Esquerda and taking it to closer, daily life places in the village, the windows of the 40 shops were used as exhibition points. The exhibition was inaugurated on Saturday 14th June with an itinerary through the main streets of the village. Finally, these 82 photographs were brought together in an exhibition at the Aula de Cultura d'Unnim Caixa.

I+D Iberians and development (June - August 2013)

This exhibition was used to inaugurate the new headquarters of the Archaeological Museum of L’Esquerda. The exhibition is a production of the Provincial Deputation of Barcelona, with the Museum of Santa Coloma de Gramenet and Ca n'Oliver of Cerdanyola.

Horses and power in the Iberian world (January- April 2014)

Exhibition on the role of horses in the Iberian world produced by the University of Lleida and thanks to the support of ARQUEOXARXA.

Play Stories, play and learn with clicks (March-May 2014)

A journey through history with 6 dioramas made with Playmobil clicks. One of these dioramas represented the last destruction of L’Esquerda in 1314. It is produced by Aesclicks and ARQUEOXARXA.

It is a photographic exhibition with images of the people who have worked at the L’Esquerda Site, from 1977 until now.
